How Direct-to-Film works

Five steps from pixels to pressed. This is why DTF beat vinyl and gave screen printing a run for its money.

RIP & print

Your artwork is ripped to CMYK layers and printed mirrored onto clear PET film by a dual-head Epson i3200 printer.

White underbase

In the same pass, a dense white ink layer is printed on top of the colors — this is what makes prints pop on dark fabric.

Hot-melt powder

The wet print is dusted with TPU hot-melt adhesive powder that sticks only to the inked areas.

Cure

Film runs through a 120°C curing tunnel, gelling the powder into a flexible glue layer.

Press & peel

15 seconds at 160°C under a heat press, hot peel, done. The print is now part of the shirt.
